When to sow, by crop
Sowing windows for central Madhya Pradesh. Shift them to suit the actual onset of the monsoon and your own soil moisture.

Storage
Keeping seed alive until sowing
Germination can only fall after the seed leaves us. Most of that loss is avoidable.
Keep it dry
Moisture is what kills germination. Store in a dry room, off the floor, away from walls, so air can circulate around the pack.
Keep it cool and shaded
Avoid direct sunlight and hot tin-roofed stores. Heat and humidity together are the worst combination for seed.
Keep it separate
Never store seed with fertiliser, pesticide or diesel. Fumes and spillage damage seed and make it unsafe.
Keep it sealed
Do not open the pack until you are ready to sow. Once opened, the seed picks up moisture from the air.
